The Arthritis Community Research & Epidemiology Unit (ACREU) was founded in 1991 as an interdisciplinary research unit. ACREU’s mission is to ameliorate the adverse impact of arthritis on individuals, their families and in the population.

ACREU is a primary source for reliable population-level data on arthritis in Canada. Research topics include our understanding of arthritis and osteoarthritis and its impact on individuals and society using clinical and population-based data.
