The Arthritis Community Research & Evaluation Unit (ACREU)

The Arthritis Community Research & Evaluation Unit (ACREU) was founded in 1991 as an interdisciplinary research unit. ACREU’s mission is to ameliorate the adverse impact of arthritis on individuals, their families and in the population, through a comprehensive program of applied health services research concerned with the delivery of care to people with chronic disabling disorders using arthritis as a model. ACREU is a primary source for reliable data on arthritis in Canada. Research includes arthritis and employment, primary care management, access to specialists, joint replacement surgery and rehabilitation service delivery.
